Dear Soulmates

After a painful and difficult separation from a miserable marriage, I was fast approaching 40 and really wanting to find a lovely man to settle down and have a family with. My confidence was at an all time low and I thought maybe I was asking for the impossible. I'd tried another site but without much success, the men I met were not in reality like they appeared on the site, or correspondence was difficult and phone calls awkward. Maybe I wasn't so good at choosing - it's not easy!

Right from the word 'go' the people who contacted me on Soulmates seemed different. Hope returned. After just a week an 'older' guy e-mailed me directly saying he thought we had a lot in common and if my stipulated age preferences were at all flexible, then I might want to correspond with him. That was Mother's Day 2007. I did e-mail back and it was the easiest, most natural correspondence I'd ever had. After a week of e-mails, I called him and a week of long phone calls later we arranged to meet - on April Fools' Day! We both knew even before meeting that something special was going down. He'd been on and off the site for about a year, had some disastrous dates, but hadn't given up 'the search'.

We've been together ever since. It hasn't all been plain sailing, after being knocked off your feet, there is an inevitable 'coming back to earth' stage, but we are now happier than ever and at 41 (me) and 50 something (him) our first baby is on the way. I still can't believe my partner is also my best friend, my playmate and the father of our precious child. Just amazing!!! Thank you Soulmates, you don't make miracles but you certainly help them on their way! And to all your subscribers still looking for love, a word of advice - don't give up, it IS out there somewhere.
